That was a terrible app (when I last used it) since I could never get it to actually work.
Is there a reason you don’t use iCloud Keychain, I find that works perfectly for managing passwords etc

It’s for work, the clients I work with all use MS O365.
I suspected as much. And I agree with your comments, I wish it was better
I take back what I said about 1Password 8. It’s a while since I tried it so I renewed it for a month and have been thoroughly testing it. I’m pleased to say that pretty much all the bugs that I was experiencing before have now been fixed, so I’m going to give it another go full time. The new iOS apps are pretty good, too.
Edit: Just noticed that I have a $10 credit on my account! No idea where that came from but it looks like I’ll get at least 2 months free ![]()
Found an email from last year saying that they were sorry to see me go and offering $10 to come back.
Back-end wise DuckDuckGo on macOS had an update a few months back that has recently been enabled which allows the integration for Bitwarden.
Ended up just cancelling my 1Password trial, noticed Bitwarden has an Apple Watch app for TOTP codes now. Aside from 1P’s better UI there’s basically no functional difference for me so it’s hard to justify 2x the price (or really 4x, my 50% student discount was only for the first year)
Bit of BitWarden news, doesn’t mean much for us ordinary folk though ![]()
Does mention Passkey support is on its way this year though ![]()
Some more details about that LastPass hack
Isn’t this a separate incident?
Our company jumped ship to Bitwarden in Jan and we’ve just finished rotating passwords and certs to be safe. The joys I never want to do again
pretty unbelievable that a single devops home computer, which was compromisable with third party software, had access to basically everything. And downloading huge databases to a new device didn’t cause any alarms to go off. Basically, no security design whatsoever.
Guess it depends on how you define the start and end of the incident.
The article itself says
regarding a couple of security incidents
And I know there are several dates involved so put that together to get the multiple incidents. Either way, them hiding it / telling some customers to not say anything for months is a joke. Imagine the nightmare that could have happen
It’s one and the same from last year, the 1st part enabled them to go deeper and further into the systems for part 2. Either way, regardless of if people class it as 1 big incident or 2, it’s bad
What is the new Google Authenticator icon even meant to be?

Apparently, it is meant to be an asterisk * but it just doesn’t look right to me.
Does it really matter as long as you recognise it as Google Authenticator?
Incidentally, I wouldn’t touch Google Authenticator with a barge pole:
I don’t anymore. I use Samsung Pass.
