We're rethinking Monzo Plus bundles (and some other updates!)

RE: Metal cards. Considering the biggest issue with this seems to be the cost of it, is it worth just letting us pay for one if we want it? So if it’s £5 each (MOQ of customers perhaps) we just have the option to pay for it if we want it. Removes the risk of cost from Monzo, and potentially gives a better view of the value of the plus bundles that may include it if you know it saves you X amount.
If the cost per card is actually £50 this probably wouldn’t work. But I think if it’s a reasonable amount, we could just take they risk from the offering.

But still inviting people to sign up for it

Good luck with Monzo Plus v3.0. I hope you can get it working to everyone’s benefit. :+1:

I’m am original plus customer and I stayed out of the last thread as people were getting quite emotional about the situation.

The above is the direction I’d like this to head. The £6 the original core package ended up costing was too much.

Thank you this update. It is much better than the last Plus update.

Prize draws still feels odd. Can you not just pick a viable price then put them up for pre-order? It might be metal cards just don’t work for Monzo, in which case, presumably it’ll be better to test that quickly.

In other news I reduced my balance by about half since the last Plus change-set, with a plan to reduce it by ninety or so percent. My point is some changes really don’t sit right and work against everything else. Like the fact, I like core Monzo, which I often refer to other people for free. But felt let down by the shocking changes in Plus 2.0.

Aim for 5 stars please and I’m interested :+1:

I’m not Monzo. I’m not speaking on their behalf. The result you’ve found is exactly the reason why I’ve said (in the other topic) that people should be wary of being drawn into packaged bank accounts. You can often get a better deal buying separately from a specialist insurer.

The Monzo Plus offering hasn’t looked compelling at any point yet. Perhaps they’ll perfect it now they’re listening.

I just would like some swag pls

Great news! I made the big switch to Monzo as my main bank and did so around the launch of the new plus bundles, they looked terrible, glad you are rethinking it

I want swag

It really depends on what your looking as Worldwide Family travel insurance is expensive for a family of 5 and £9 is fairly reasonable to get a fairly decent policy

Something that should be included as per other standard accounts

Mobile Cover
Breakdown Cover
Travel Insurance
Extras
Lounge Access
Better Rates
Discounts on wider product set when available or third parties that people actually use.

This is what makes Monzo to me - the very fact that people there listen to us little people is what sets it apart from the usual run of the mill bank that does it’s own thing.

I think, when it comes to insurances, you could do potentially offer every additional insurance product at a discounted rate (if this is possible) e.g. if someone takes travel insurance at, say, £6 per month and phone insurance costs around £8 per month totalling £14, why not discount it so it comes to £10-£12 and so on with things like contents insurance and any other insurance that may be useful?

Just a thought

It’s great you’re having a rethink on this. I’ve been personally critical of these changes to the point where I cancelled my plus membership.

However it’s fantastic to be with a bank which listens to the feedback it’s community gives, its why I’m fullmonzo and will continue to be.

I used the word ‘merch’ for the first time ever because of this forum. So many confused faces staring at me asking when I got ‘down with the lingo’ or whatever :man_facepalming:

Really great that you’re willing to own up to the fact that this change wasn’t what the community as a whole wanted. Honestly surprised it’s changed this quickly!

At this point I have faith this’ll work out fine. You’ve consistently worked to improve things elsewhere — see The Big List last year. Gonna give it time!

The rate of cancellations, the amount of cash you hold in your monzo account, or maybe how “active” a monzo user you are (think number of direct debits, how much income you pay in, number of card payments you make, etc)?

Me too… I’m really happy Monzo actually take action on things promptly instead of basically telling us all to lump it!

A little slow if you ask me.
