There’s a big in this feature on my android and a few other people are getting it too.
The number pad to add a value to withdraw or add only briefly pops up but then disappears. Can’t move money into main account. Have tried uninstall/reinstall of app and restart phone, but persists. Bug report logged in help section.
@giorgio I have this new feature and I like the fact that I can now easily switch between pots if I’m on the wrong one.
But it’s not exactly an improvement from my point of view, it’s a completely downgrade from the way it worked before. I don’t care about the swish animations and it wasn’t too inconvenient before to back out of the withdrawl/deposit screen and go to the correct pot.
You’ve just removed functionality that I use daily in regards to the plus and minus buttons.
The plus and minus buttons made it quick and easy for me to deposit or withdraw money quickly between pots and move through increments of the amount I wish to withdraw or deposit.
I’d love to know What product manager thought that removing things was a good idea.
Now your forcing me to enter the exact amount manually everytime! this has destroyed my user experience! Can you put the plus and minus buttons back please !
Fair enough, it would have been a massive improvement had the kept it the way it was before and added this feature on top. I just don’t understand why it wasn’t factored in.

Unless you’re only sending £5 or £10 I would expect the number of key presses to have been reduced if anything.
It wouldn’t surprise me if Monzo are removing the plus/minus buttons completely due to the number of people who got confused about sending a value below £5 (I seem to recall lots of topics about this in the past) or who got RSI from all the pressing of the plus button when it would have simpler to just type in the number.
I can already tell that they aren’t going to re-instate the buttons.
Why is reducing key presses such a big concern ?
I tend to spend a lot of time moving money between pots, sometimes its £10 sometimes £70 I generally use my phone one handed and when I’m on the move travelling around the City having to type the number in is less convenient for me. Thats where the Plus and minus button comes in super handy for me, Just press it until its at the amount I want.
