Virtual cards - have the name of the card on it

I have created virtual cards and added to my wallet. It’s hard just using colours to try remember the purpose of each card.

When creating them you can give them a name. It would be helpful to have this name on the card itself ie virtual “household”.

I’m currently working off a note with colours or remembering the last 3 digits. It’s spoils the feature somewhat

This has been raised a few times - it’s not possible to have customised values on the card designs in mobile wallets, it’s a limitation of the wallets and not something Monzo can do.

Yeah, as mentioned by Orinoco, this is an Apple and Google Wallet limitation and not something Monzo can do anything about.

Not sure about Apple, but on Google Wallet you can add a “nickname” within the wallet app to make things easier.

Thanks Both.

I thought maybe because “Virtual” was on the wallet card it would be able to tag onto that text.

No adding on names in Apple that I’m aware of

That’s just part of the static image they register with Apple and Google, same with the design for Joint accounts.

It’s the reason why when making a virtual card you can only pick from 10 or so colour schemes - they register those 10 images, but if the colours were completely customisable they’d have to register thousands. Would be the same thing if they had the name of the card on the image.

iOS indeed doesn’t have a way to set nicknames unfortunately.
