Upgrading account while abroad

I’m currently on a gap year and using Monzo to withdraw cash. I can see that Monzo Plus has a larger cash allowance which would be useful so I’d like to upgrade.

However, I cannot find anywhere that says whether my existing Monzo card remains valid. I need a physical card to be able to withdraw cash in most countries.

I understand there is a new card with the Monzo Plus, but that would be sent to my home address that I won’t be visiting for another 3 and a half months and would defeat the purpose of upgrading!

Can anyone shed any light?

You get the option of whether you want to replace your card or not when you upgrade.

Edit: Or as above, just don’t activate it until you’re home.
