I think that when a UK issued card is used then there is no point. But for foreign cards, it obviously makes sense.
Not everyone living or working in the UK have English as their mother tongue so what harm does it do having extra language options as it may assist some people and the only hardship to you is having to press one extra button
I understand and support the ability to put things in your own language but I personally would prefer not having to go through this option every single time. I feel - like many other things - this should be streamlined as much as possible. The amount of time it takes to go through some ATM menus sometimes is ridiculous. No, I donāt want a receipt, No, I donāt want that either, Yes please give me my money, No, I donāt want another service!!
A Union Flag* on a corner button which you can press to take you to the language choice screen would be ideal, you can change language to your choosing or ignore and fly (struggle more likely) through the other options.
*I actually hate seeing languages represented by flags, never understood why there is no internationally recognisable symbol for ālanguageā.
