I’m pretty annoyed how Ozark ended. Could have gone a complete other way - which I’d already somewhat planned out in my head
Slow Horses is definitely worth a shout, as is Severance, which I got to the end of season one earlier today.
Started watching a comedy-drama called The Sex Lives of College Girls after stumbling across it on ITV2. Parts of it felt very familiar in character and structure, but I couldn’t put my finger on it - until the end credits, when I realised it was a Mindy Kaling show. And I’ve been watching a season of The Mindy Project a month this year (a little behind, halfway through season four now).
Only problem is, it ended up making me a bit sad that TSLoCG is an hour-long show (with ads) instead of a sub-30 minutes show like TMP. Yes, it amused me, but when I look at all the other shows I’m watching, it’s so hard to fit another hourly show in there (and they’re all hourly shows, more or less). When did networks lose the ability to make shows shorter?
Severence was good!
Not seen slow horses, been watching Outer Range on prime which is getting there slowly.
Going through season 1 of BBC/HBO’s His Dark Materials. Exceptional adaptation compared against the movie (which just can’t do it justice by cramming absolutely everything in). Given this is a YA fiction, it really does get a bit grim in places.
Just watched Heartstopper on Netflix. I’m in my twenties, and my partner in his thirties, and we both felt ancient watching it. But it’s so sweet, and was nice to watch a LGBT programme without it ending in tragedy. We loved it.
Been watching Manifest… I like the show but it’s only on Now TV and the android TV app for that is half finished and crashes after every episode, casting it casts it in SD which looks awful… and I’m not watching a series on a 3 inch phone screen. So may abandon it as too much hassle.
I had totally slipped back when season 3 of Ozark came out so I decided to start again from Season 1 this week and I’m absolutely loving the revisit.
Everything is done so well and the tense vibes they’re able to create even within those first episodes is insane.
Peter Mullan (Jacob Snell) also lives nearby where I stay so having his menacing face on the screen is ominous.
Such a great show.
I somewhat feel they left it open for a potential season 5 but that’s a huge ask/wish!
Ruth is the best character all day long.
I imagine the first 3 seasons will probably move their way on to Netflix before the 4th season airs on it
Amen to both. Just finished series 4 and I feel kind of like I did when I’d seen the last episode of the Sopranos.
It’ll be coming to Netflix at some point, won’t it? They’re making the last season. So if you have Netflix, might be you can put it off until then.
I think Sky have the exclusive rights in the UK, alas.
Just watched Star Trek Strange New Worlds, 1st episode was great it’s looking promising. It does rewrite what’s possible with a transporter, but I can live with that.
Correction! Having gone back to it, I realise only the first episode was an hour-long special. The rest are a much more reasonable 30 minutes.
But annoying when a show does that, but I’ll live. At least it’s not like Miami Vice (first episode is feature length and I didn’t realise).
Watching through True Blood don’t think I’ve ever got through all the series in the past. Forgotten how good it is tbf.
Can’t wait for this
I keep meaning to watch this, glad it’s getting good reviews.
dam you just made me buy the box set on e bay lol , was addicted to it whilst on holiday in cuba a good few years ago lol
Welcome to Eden (Netflix).
Don’t waste your time
