Hopefully someone with a bit more knowledge of the app can help me here.
I’m trying to get a bit more serious about budgeting and I find the summary vs trends sections very confusing.
I want to set a budget for certain categories but I can only do this in the summary section. But that section doesn’t show transactions from pots with virtual cards attached?
I can see all transactions in the trends tab but can’t set budgets against them.
Any ideas?
We’re all in a transition period from the older ‘Summary’ to the new ‘Trends’.
Monzo staff informed that Summary features would be ported across to Trends and then Summary probably retired, but there were no timescales given. So for now you’ve got the best & worst of both worlds!
Is there any change on this? Starting to budget with Monzo and don’t know what to use…
Use Trends (don’t use Summary)
Although by the time Summary is gone, development on Trends will have likely evaporated and Trends v2 will be half-launched.

Exactly that. Trends seems really close to being a great product but seem key features.
It’s hard to know which payments you’ve checked the categories on and most annoyingly, the target feature just doesn’t work? It doesn’t exclude upcoming bills so it’s saying I have thousands to spend when I don’t because a large chunk of it is bills… unless I’m misunderstanding
