No you can go ahead and register interest in the current account.
Do bear in mind that they are looking for people with 6 months of usage on the prepaid product though.
Stupid Question: If you get a current account now, are you still able to use CASS later on*?
*When itās available.
Starling accounts still have CASS even though you have an open account, Iām sure this must be a similar workflow for Monzo in the future.
Listen if you have such an issue with the people on here, the staff, the leaders and Monzo in general I hear there is an amazing site you can join where business is booming and you will get everything you want.
Thanks me later.
Beat me to it
Iāve registered my interest and canāt wait to try this out, also I started using Monzo over a year ago now
Iāll take that as a āgood enough for meā.
One question, if we get a current account now, will we have the same sort code & account number as when the fully finished product is launched? Iād like to move my bills/salary to the account but not if Iāll have to update everyone again a few months later?
This is an important question. I imagine āyesā but good to be sure as it will impact things like Direct Debits etcā¦
I think youāve found a 404 mascot (https://monzo.com/404)

I think that might be the sort-code?
It is, but their error 404 is a bit dull atm
Please have proof before you accuse me of things that I know nothing about.
If you have an issue with another member or feel as if theyāre not following the community guidelines feel free to use the flag button or get in touch with a member of the Monzo team instead of resorting to various retorts that donāt come across too well. ![]()
Preach. And the fact that @alexs isnāt an Investor but never moans about it is another reason why he should have one
Yes
You will be able to
Yes, itāll be the same sort code and account number
But note that your card will be replaced at some point so you may have to update the long card number on online sites. Although @rdingwall has some crazy ideas about that tooā¦
Iām very disappointed to be an investor, but also an android user. Looks like Iāll just have to wait with the rest of the crowd then.
A couple more questions.

I understand that the customer support will be initially operating limited hours. Am I right however I thinking that the systems will be monitored 24/7 for any general problems? If Iām relying on it as my main bank account and there was a general technical problem on Saturday morning, I would want to be sure that people were monitoring and able to ideally deploy a fix rather than having to rely on credit cards and the like until Monday morning.

During this rollout phase, will there be any guarantees if for instance, a payment was to fail due to system downtime and the customer was left out of pocket?
Thanks for being willing to start the roll-out before all the intended launch features are ready. I realise there are challenges to rolling out a product which isnāt yet where you want it to be, but we are also all very impatient. It looks like youāve found the right balance between the two.

This is great news! Well done to all of the team. I have been using the card since the Alpha and for the most part, everything has worked perfectly.
