Thought I’d use my balcony for the few times a year I can get out on it and with zero clouds to be seen for miles it’s insane how quickly you heat up!
Gave me an excuse to clean it though, sit with a podcast and get a little pre-sun before I head to Portugal tomorrow for a wedding

Office room windows open, tunnelled through to the front bedroom where the sun is beaming in.
Big fan blowing the heat out from the bedroom, seems to be keeping upstairs very cool.

I tend to have fans not directly at me, but more keeping the air generally moving so while you don’t get that freezing cold hit you have a lower temperature around the room as a whole.
(Also half of these books are my other half’s but I do like the idea that I’m special enough to stalk 
)

Top tip: close your windows and shutters when it’s hotter outside, only open all windows when sundown to let the cooler air in. Having a fan on low moving the air around keeps it cooler, you might not need an AC.
I’m in an EPC E Victorian building with single-glazed windows. Cold as hell year round, finally shows its (drafty) value as I only need to close the West-facing windows and pull the curtains.
My OH got us Venty fans, worth the money for lower noises.

I have pedestal air circulators in the living room, and one in the bedroom. I got the Dreo smart fans that run via google home/smart assistant of choice. Then a desk fan from the same brand.
Had them a couple of summers now and they’ve been awesome. Especially like that I can tell google home to turn them on for me before I get home so its not all hot and stuffy when I walk into the flat. The one in the bedroom gets used during the winter as well. I find having a bit of air movement helps me sleep in general.

I hope it’s better than their washing machines which were absolute 
and eventually they provide me with a deadlock letter meaning we got a new washing machine. Not only was the WM of poor quality their customer service was appalling.
