The 2026 Saving Challenge - New year, new levels, plus a new rate for Extra, Perks and Max

This has probably been asked many times before:

If I start the challenge, divide £667.95 by 12 and just add in the monthly amounts manually as I don’t want my feed filled with 1p, am I still eligible for the £100 monthly gamble?

According to the rules, I guess so. As long as your last “catchup” is done before midnight on the 31st

You can hide transactions in the challenge and it will hide them from your feed for 30 days though.

I’ve just done it and all past 1p lines are hidden from my feed.

Does it remind you every day you’ve not paid into the challenge to make a payment ie a notification? Or just let you plod along doing what you wish until the end?

I’m referring to the £100 monthly, not the £10k.

Nah. When I paused the challenge for a good 2-3 months I got no nudges, and back then I still left the transactions shown on my feed.

You won’t earn 5% on the full £2,671.80 though (except on the day after the challenge ends); for the majority of the year you’ll be earning far less because you’ll have far less in the pot. You won’t even be earning a full pound until May:

So I guess I could just save the monthly amounts due across the year and be good.

I assume you can’t do this on a joint account, only personal accounts?

So for the big £10k draw, no paid tier required, same as 2025.

Looks like joining after 11:59:59pm on 31 January 2026 means no lucky draw at all even if you subscribe, also same as 2025.

You’re only missing out on the £10k draw, but should be fine for the monthly draw by the looks of the T&Cs.

I’m a Max subscriber and will have the total amount by end of year, so will hit both.

Joint accounts are excluded.

Unsurprisingly.

I remember the small print from last year says they can disqualify you if you’ve not been saving “in the spirit of the challenge” though.

Is no more. It’s now a Find out more button. That was quick!

I’ve enjoyed the savings challenge, so will definitely be doing the 2026 one.

Anyone have the new challenge available yet? Our phones are still saying “coming soon on 1 Jan”…

I couldn’t be bothered with the faff for £44 :joy:

Just under £90 if two people are doing it, that’s a decent night out!

edit: At the end of the day we have to decide whether earning an extra £31.62 worth of interest throughout the year (and technically the non-zero-but-extremely-low chance of winning one of the challenge prizes) is worth the faff of diverting some of our other monthly savings into this challenge. It’ll be a bit of hassle, but it is free money, even if it isn’t a huge amount of free money…
