Not sure this will help people as such but I just wanted to say thanks to Monzo.
In the next few days I will have paid off money I built up on credit cards during my late teens and early twenties and it’s all thanks to Monzo.
By utilising pots and using Monzo as an account away from my main current account I have managed to budget my money better and actually pay these credit cards off.
I don’t think it will be long before I make the switch to Monzo being my main account.
Congrats - turning things around financially from a ‘bad’ place to a better place is never easy and takes a huge amount of mental effort to (a) recognise the issue and (b) deal with it.
Best of luck moving onward and upward. Using the best financial tools available really eases the effort and Monzo is clearly a good choice to help with that.
I’ve had the same experience. I hope Monzo can find a way to make people like us profitable, because I really think that’s where real promise lies. People like us become evanglistic because we’ve seen real benefits to ours lives. (I don’t see how Monzo can make money pandering to those who only use Monzo for holidays, or in allowing people to switch energy providers… )
Congratulations!!! Monzo has some really great budgeting tools - being able to see at a glance how much I have left for the month after committed spends, since going full Monzo, has made life so much simpler for me!!
