Summary Retiring... Can we keep one thing? šŸ™šŸ»

So, I’m aware that Summary is being sunsetted on 21st December - I didn’t much require the detailed summary breakdowns but what I would love to make a case for is seeing the ā€˜left to spend this month’s circle visualisation being moved back to the homescreen so I can always see how I’m tracking.

I give myself a monthly allowance in Monzo

and it’s a great way for me to see if I haven’t spent for a few days that I have built up the pot a bit and can splash out on something I want. For instance, if I put Ā£600 of spending money in there I’m effectively giving myself Ā£20 per day as a ā€˜pocket money’ budget.

If I don’t spend anything for the first three days of the month I have Ā£60 to play with and the visualisation tells me this.

I would therefore really miss this specific summary feature and wonder if it could continue to exist elsewhere else in the app??

Thoughts?

Trends - Target - set your budget and period there.

Scroll down on Home Screen to spotlight - scroll to edit - turn on left to spend

ā€œleft to spendā€ doesn’t show a graph/charts. Turn on ā€œTargetā€ to see a bar similar to what Carlo has.
Not a circle, but a line.

The benefit of summary though was that you didn’t have to set a target or budget.

This made it work even when you might have different amounts to spend each month due to variable pay or if you released some money from a pot or you received some money as a gift, or whatever. It just worked without the need to set or edit overall budgets. It also worked for different accounts with different balances/left to spend amounts and trends just doesn’t.

So yes you can try and replicate it with trends and it’s spotlight but but in my mind it’s a poor imitation at best.

Trends is freezer chips compared to Summary’s Chippy chips.

I so agree! There was a beautiful simplicity to just being able to have that simple circle (which used to be been more prominent on the home screen!) and I’ve been playing around with Trends per the previous replies and it’s just not what I’m after.

It’s a real First World problem, I’m aware, but I wish the Devs would find a way to include simple access to Summary from the home screen and not sunset it on favourite of Trends.

Le sigh…

I think if the Balance tab in Trends could get more love then it could be a good replacement for Summary.
