I relied on th summary function to do my monthly budgeting and now I’m flying blind.
I’m not sure I’ve seen this level of engagement / annoyance on here since when.
@AlanDoe @Cian I’m sure you will have done already but worth feeding these data points back up the chain? Lots of unhappiness bubbling over from folk taking the time to create forum accounts to complain.
And, if I could channel 2019 Monzo, maybe worth getting the right product manager (not marketer please!) on to explain the rationale and the way forward…
I mean, there is gonna be a way forward, right?
It’ll likely just be a “it is what it is” approach, Monzo doesn’t seem to care much on customer feedback unless it makes them money somehow.
Just a bank being a bank, it’s not what it once was. Their feet have landed and can happily lose numbers.
I’d also be interested to know why this has become such an issue now? I haven’t had access to Summary for what feels like years now. Did access remain only for the most engaged Summary users and were they transitioned last?
Well for me I went to do my usual curation of the monthly budget and discovered it was no longer there! Makes sense as it was withdrawn within the month of dec. I definitely wasn’t aware it was going away completely. So yes that’s why it’s raised its head with me.
For me it’s the fact they haven’t bothered implementing the core features of summary into it. They’ve had YEARS!
Like some have said, they are to big to be bothered about upsetting a few people who started with Monzo from the beginning.
It got hidden years ago, but up until recently it was still available in the slide down options in the Home Screen?
In the Monzo account that you want to access Summary, tap on search and search for ‘Summary’ or ‘Spending report’. Hopefully a list of spending reports will be displayed, tap on the first one and you’ll get into the old Summary by tapping on ‘See full summary’ at the bottom.
Not sure how long this will work for though (there’s now a header stating Summary is being retired on December 21…)
