Summary period from last < weekday > of month (eg: last Friday of the month)

It should be very easy to do, I can do it using a formula in excel so doing it with code should be a doddle.

Is there any update on this @simonb ??

It’s genuinely my biggest gripe with Monzo. If you get paid on the last Friday of every month then none of your Summary periods make any sense.

The paydays of this year have fallen on the following dates. 25th/22nd/29th/26th/31st/28th/26th and it’s literally impossible to line up the Summary correctly.

Obviously I understand you guys have a priority list like any company. But surely this is a simple implementation.

I’m afraid I’ve not seen any updates or anything to indicate that this is being worked on :pensive:

I get paid on the last Thursday of the month so would also love to see this feature implemented. Quite frustrating having to adjust every month using ‘the working day before’ option as it doesn’t always fall on the correct date ie. in a 5 week month. Loving everything else, though!

I’d love to see this as a thing

Right now I set my budget from the date I get paid which is constant and work off that.

But it would be cool to have this option!

I get paid on second last working day of month, so would really appreciate more alternatives in the budgeting period.
I asked about it on the chat facility and was told it would depend on how much demand there was.

This was something I would have found useful.

Since it’s not happening I came up with my own workaround which really helped with the annoying variability in budgeting months and may be useful for others…

Or have an option for ‘last working day of the month’ as thats how I get paid!
Oorrrrr better yet, get to set your own start and end date… this would then also help for people who get paid weekly or fortnightly!!

My wife works for the NHS and gets paid on the last Thursday of every month. I’d really love to see more options on the reset date of the summary.

Our Trust does 3 working days days before the last working day of the month :see_no_evil:

+1 for last business day of the month. That’s when my company pays us.

Same here, 3 working days before the end of the month, would be really good if I could just set that either month by month or just ‘tell’ the app.

Last day of the week of the month does it for me. So last Thursday is mine and so it’s a 5 week month for me, be good to see reflected in the summary

Replying support this. I also get paid the last Friday of the month, just started budgeting with Monzo and realised this is a pain to work around

That works already - you just set Summary for the 31st then choose the day before option if that’s not a working day.

Seems to work for months with less than 31 days, too!

(Now the problem is that if I use Pay Early it messes it up!)

A year later and still nada…

The Summary feature is completely useless, below I have listed the number of days between all of my paydays for 2020, it’s pretty irregular.

  1. 42
  2. 28
  3. 28
  4. 35
  5. 28
  6. 28
  7. 35
  8. 28
  9. 28
  10. 35
  11. 28
  12. 21

Surely Monzo have enough data to realise that the number of their customers this effects. I’d love to know how many of their customers this feature is completely useless for (I bet it’s a lot).

So we still can’t have payday on the last Friday of the month? This is also how I am paid and the budgeting tools on Monzo are useless to me until this is fixed.

Another vote on this from me, it would be fine if I could even just manually enter a custom series of dates in advance for the year. My paydays are the penultimate working day of the month, which would be awkward to enter algorithmically but I’m sure I could enter via a basic interface in about 10 seconds.

The summary feature has been useless to me from day one and I’ve been using Monzo since the very early stages.

I get paid the 4th Friday of each month and I honestly cannot believe they haven’t sorted this yet. People have now been asking for customised pay date management for years and I’m kinda sick of it.

I might cancel my account as it seems other banks are now starting to learn from Monzo’s good points anyway.
