Subscriptions for payments to individuals

I have several service providers who are freelance and I pay via bank transfer. I pay them the same amount at the same time every month, but am unable to set up a subscription because (i think) the payments use Faster Payments.

I’d like to be able to set up a subscription so these payments will be predicted in my summary and amount left to spend. I don’t see an obvious reason why any payment couldn’t be set as recurring and predicted in this way.

Note: I’m not looking to automate the payment, just to add payments to “Upcoming” so the amount is deducted from my “Left to spend” each month.

This should be easy - I pay my council tax in exactly the same way.

Set up a scheduled payment to be paid on [insert date] to the intended bank account, set it to repeat as necessary, then assign a category to it & exclude the same category from the reporting in Trends.

This results in an auto-payment which is excluded from the ‘Left-to-Spend’ amount.
