This is a nice touch. Seems they’ve updated from just using that icon to indicate an issue. Front and centre in the app.
I remember seeing loads more people with the Monzo card after this.
It was really pushed as being a travellers friend.
I’ve said this a few times but people still like to claim they now charge everyone
Reading these recent posts, and looking more into the differences between Monzo and Starling, I would say personally that Starling has gone more down the path of the traditional bank.
This probably has a lot to do with the fact that Anne come from a traditional banking background whereas Tom was from a more tech background.
I’m not saying that it is a good or bad thing, as everyone has different wants and needs from their bank.
If they both keep following their respective paths, I hope there will be a successful future for both.
Have to say I disagree with this - on their B2B side they’re offering a lot of progressive services which traditional banks don’t offer. They’re building out the tech to use themselves but profiting off of it by offering it as a service to others also.
Thanks for pointing those out
Maybe I looked at the 2 offerings a bit too simplistically.
Only use my Starling card at Costco because Google pay seems not to work at their checkout. Everuehere else I just use my phone.
What about monzo at Costco?
Has anyone read about Starlings development of open banking, both ways ?
Works fine for the Mrs and I use Apple Pay all the time. Strange.
Sadly I don’t. Was hoping one or two here might have discovered some news
Where did you hear that there was maybe something to read?
I guess it was a poorly asked question on my part. I was just wondering if any Starling fans had heard any news around OB. I’ve had a browse but couldn’t see much.
OB??? what’s that
Open banking
organizational behaviour
Outside broadcasting.
