Now sponsoring the bike hire in Manchester. All that marketing spending for what?
To try to get more customers? I donāt really see the issue with a company advertising. Iāve seen more adverts for Monzo recently yet no one here is acting shocked that Monzo has adverts.
Iām not shocked with companies advertising - more shocked that I havenāt seen any Monzo ads at all recently. Maybe itās the āNorth thingā that I havenāt experienced any ads.
Iāve been getting tons on YouTube. Not long ones, but still a lot.
Hereās the new Starling Bank Bikes sponsorship
They chose the wrong sponsor. Brand colour clashes with the Bee Network. Should have signed up Preecard instead.
Thanks for that. Iāve not seen that at all - despite being close to Manchestah
Almost as weird as seeing Starling sponsor EV charging stations in the Lake District
Iām not sure Iāve seen physical Monzo ads at all but Iāve seen some digital ones recently, I saw a full size starling billboard in Manchester recently.
I went to rejoin, as itās almost been a year since I switched out.
I contacted customer support, and they mentioned they have temporarily suspended allowing old current accounts users to rejoin while they perform some work ābehind the scenes.ā Has anyone successfully rejoined recently?
I think they are pretty strict about not coming back within a year.
How long until itās been a year? Iād give it another try after that.
I rejoined about 4 months ago⦠but then saw how they hadnāt made any new changes or anything exciting so I switched it out hahaha I think starling has had its day. Been promising credit cards for a couple of year now and no mention of it since.
Did they actually āpromiseā? Iāve seen plenty of āwatch this spaceā responses from CS but nothing more than that, really.
Imagine being mad that a bank doesnāt follow a product timeline you invented.
Probably talking a couple of weeks.
They did say 2023 a credit card would be in the pipe line.
Iām sure they have been saying it longer than that. Wasnāt it Chase that had it in the roadmap in February 2023?
Starling credit card or first direct instant notifications?!
Iām not an expert but surely it canāt take this long. If they wanted it. They would have brought it to market by now.
They hinted credit card in an interview. They were ramping it up. But then pandemic hit and they launched connected card instead (restricted delegated card).
Also they had credit card like product briefly sharing overdraft line. But it didnāt stick and got canned. Not sure if any existing users of that remain.
That was just a loan rather than a credit card like facility. It didnāt have other credit card perks like S75 protection from what I remember.
Exactly this.
People take CS saying āWeāll look into it. Itās something weād love to doā as it happening, when in reality they have zero idea and are just being polite.
