Starling Bank Chat (Part 2)

I do agree though Starling Bank does amazing statements.

Even better value is (or was, no idea if it still is) is the National Trust for Scotland membership which is (or at least was) cheaper, but still gets you into all of the English sites as well.

Yet you will still be supporting Scottish places and if you’re that bothered, I’m sure National Trust would kindly accept some extra donations.

It’s an interesting take from Starling on a referral scheme - both parties get something out of it (I’m sure the National Trust properties will benefit from the extra visit to their Tea room!) and it’s something possibly a bit more sustainable for Starling rather than just chuck more money bribes at people.

As it’s generally £17 per adult for a ticket into a National Trust property, it could be worth it.

Also, it’s pretty much confirmed what was suspected as what’s Starling’s ‘target’ market is. It’s not Millennial wanting the latest gadgets and exciting new products, it’s more of a ‘middle class’ market.

(Oh - I also got a message from Starling trying to get me to put some savings in their fixed term savings space, so at least they haven’t forgotten about it - even if it’s incredibly un-competitive compared to most other instant access savings accounts now).

I feel like a £5 referral bonus is worth more to most people but I might not be the target demographic for the referral programme so it definitely depends on who you ask
