Stacking additions to pots

I tend to use pots quite a lot sometimes adding money multiple times a day, and I find myself cluttering up my whole feed because of it. It would be absolutely amazing and super convenient if any additions to pots on the same day would be stacked per day,

so instead of the current mechanic of
+10
+10
+20

It’d just calculate how much has been added in a day and give you a total sum of +40

Yeah, I makes sense given they are essential multiple of the same type of transaction. Maybe a ‘click and expand’ to see the breakdown kinda thing? Would work for me.

That only works if they are all to the same pot, of course.

I don’t understand the rationale for performing multiple transfers to pots throughout the day, is there a reason for it?

I’ve wanted this for a while. For pots it’s fairly rare but sometimes I end up spamming my feed adding money to pots - ending up adding multiple amounts to the same pot. Mostly because I’ll play around with things rather than plan.

This could also be implemented to multiple purchases from the same merchant one after another. So basically grouping of transactions.

I occasionally do this if I, for example, don’t treat myself to a coffee. I’ll put the equivalent cost into a savings pot. Nothing major, but little decisions every day as a way to ‘keep in touch’ with my account.

Coin Jar round ups woukd be one, if that counts.

Also if two of my invoices are paid on the same day I transfer the tax into my tax pot as each one hits my account.

I’m a tattoo artist and often times I’d be putting in money Everytime I get paid throughout the day and often times I get money coming in and out throughout the day so my bank ends up being really active.

Plus rather than managing it all end of the day I prefer doing it at the same time so I don’t forget

I was just going to suggest getting into the habit of doing the whole lot at the end of the day

Does it really matter if you forget and have to do a bigger move of funds the next day?

Ultimately it would appear you’re using your current account as a business account, so playing devils advocate, would this change and the time it takes to build, test and implement, benefit the majority people who use their accounts for personal banking?

Not sure if you’re aware but Monzo are asking for feedback on Business accounts so it might be worth suggesting this in here and keeping an eye on when it is released?

That’s actually something I was thinking about before too! For example when you go to a bar, paying for 5-6 transactions ends up cluttering the feed, where as if the main screen just showed a total and going into the transaction showed the number of payments made and how much would be alot friendlier to the summary feed!

I’m still a student and tattooing is kind of a side venture but there are times that I end up with a few people a day, I do use the account primarily as a personal account but pots come in really handy for me that way because I only started tattooing as an extra source of income to save up for things.

This tends to happen to me if I am shifting money around my pots to balance things up a bit.

For me, the ability to transfer between pots rather than from pot to main account and then to another pot again would be useful.
