Ooh, a member of the community team should probably downgrade my trust level ![]()
My experience of the ‘free’ conveyancing that we got with our last remortgage is still haunting me - they weren’t quite inept, but did seem to be willfully opaque and made things more stressful than it needed to be.
The £45 fee to use their online tracking platform really took the biscuit. I refused to pay that one
Glad to hear there’s some disruption on the way!
You definitely need a conveyancer acting for you if you’re buying or selling. But this is remortgaging, where all that’s really happening usually is a change in what’s called the “first charge” on the title register, held by the Land Registry. It’s the thing that stops you selling your house without paying back your mortgage(!)
And @Peter_G has found us. It’s super early days. I’ll post in a separate thread in January, rather than hijacking this one (further
). Except to say if you are at the point of remortgaging, do take a look! It’ll probably cost more than the value of the cashback, but our legal partner would be acting on your behalf, and we promise to make the journey as smooth as possible for you. Oh, and there’s no £45 fee to see what’s happening with your case(!!)
Any plans to add support for base rate tracker mortgages? Currently my rate is BoE base rate + x.xx% and there’s no way to add this into Monzo. I instead have to set it as a fixed rate and update the percentage each time the Bank of England issue a new base rate. Not a major issue but it would be nice if I could just set the x.xx% and Monzo would monitor the base rate and automatically update things for me ![]()
Down the line you could even add a clever calculator which, when the base rate is updated, would tell me what my new payment amount will be and how much I’ll save (/lose) each month with the new rate
Feels like feature releases related to mortgages have stagnated a bit, I wonder if it’s still being worked on. Seeing your estimated house equity is quite useful, but estimated value fluctuates a lot, and hard to really see a general trend. I think a chart would help here.
Hi there,
I currently have more than one mortgage on my home since we moved as we needed to port the existing mortgage over and then borrow an additional amount.
Will the Monzo app recognise the two mortgage products and provide the correct figures?
Additionally, it would be great to have a way to add BTL mortgages on there so we can manage those seperately.
Hey everyone! ![]()
We’re Laura (Product Designer) and Peter (Engineer) from the Borrowing team, and we’ve got something new to share with you!
We’ve been listening to your feedback about our estimated mortgage rates calculator, and we’ve made an update to help make things even clearer.
We’re introducing a new rates graph**, and it’s live today**! ![]()
The new graph gives you a better view of how 2, 3, and 5-year fixed rates have changed over time, letting you see market trends and get a clearer picture of where your rate sits.
You can also now subscribe to rate updates to stay informed about mortgage rate changes and how they could impact your monthly payments.
These rates aren’t set by Monzo — they’re based on market data, provided by our mortgage broker partner, Better.co.uk.

Eligibility
You currently need to have a mortgage to see estimated mortgage rates.
Please note that while we do our best to provide the most accurate estimates, market changes are unpredictable. You can talk to a broker (whether that’s Better.co.uk or someone else) or your lender if you want to understand your eligibility or find the mortgage that’s right for you.
This is awesome work by Laura, Peter and the rest of the team
one of my favourite things we’ve shipped.
Some of you might not have seen that you can tap into each month and then drag it for some nice haptic feedback ![]()
Realistically we also should give the graph treatment to our property value updates screen to give it a little extra pop! ![]()
In the meantime, those of you who use credit insights will start to see a graph showing your credit score over time which was based on the component we built
![]()
Yes! Please do. Would love to have the history graphed.
Would be great if we could get a graph for the mortgage balance, that projects into the future at least to when the fixed rate period ends.
I think this summarises how folks have felt about our feature since launch… maybe this is the year of the graph!
Bring back the pulse graph on the homescreen! ![]()
Said no-one ever!
My favourite Monzo feature just got better. Great work ![]()
Hi, any clues on when this feature will ship in credit insights? ![]()
Hey Paul! I don’t want to make any promises but the work with our friends in Credit Insights is underway and once done will take the usual week or so to hit app versions ![]()
Thanks Harry ![]()
My mortgage value with the bank is less than what’s displayed in Transunion. Could this be because the bank has deducted overpayments? I can’t think of another explanation. I’m unsure why the bank isn’t reporting the new balance to credit agencies.
@HB hi
do you know the answer to my post above? Thanks
