Security - Touch ID and Face ID

(Jonny Hudson) #1

Adding a layer of security when trying to access the app would be a very nice addition. I see that it was a talking point back in '16 but with the improvement to touch id and face id adding another layer of security would be preferable, as right now anyone can open the app.

What does everyone think?

I totally agree

I thought the iOS version already supported TouchId and FaceId?

(Jonny Hudson) #4

Not sure. I only use the Android version.

Ah, then yes as far as I know iOS has both of those with an Android version being a mid-term task on their trello board.

Blog post: 2018 plans

Plus, we’ll be working to bring fingerprint support to Android this year

Don’t forget about using the search, because the discussion definitely continued in 2017.

I hope I’m not going to be forced into taking selfies of myself before I can use the app!

Anyone can open the app?

Open the app, Account screen, Settings, “Require Touch ID to unlock app” - is that what you want to change?

Edit: oh, this won’t help you on Android

Careful you don’t drop that can of worms you’re holding, some of them might get out :grinning:

Fingerprint or password unlock works fine on my Android thank-you-very-much
