Santander Chat ♨️

Ryanair not fond of you right now

Good morning. Thanks for your message. As we’re now part of Santander, from the 24th July, we have removed the 2.99% foreign currency transaction fee charged on debit card ATM withdrawals in any ATMs in Portugal and Spain. You can find information around this at https://www.tsb.co.uk/current-accounts/faqs/debit-card.html I hope this helps. Lesley

Anyone want to travel down to Spain to test this out?

What does it matter? Really? :grimacing:

Just seems odd :person_shrugging:

Ask yourself why are you bothered what some other bank is doing yet you’ve no plans to go abroad and don’t bank with either of them?

There’s surely more important things going on in your life.

Yeahh… I’ve no intentions of going to Spain. And like you say, more important things

Test what is confirmed and documented?

Not. It is TSB account terms. You are overthinking stuff, creating problems that don’t exist.

Totally agree with Jo

Its very odd that a bank that is now owned by a Spanish bank is allowing you to withdraw cash for free in the Country were Santander bank was founded

I’ve decided I will test this out the next time I go to Spain to see friends. This will finally settle the issue

Santander are trying to encourage you to spend with a prize draw now…

So I can pop £100 last working day of the month in both current and savings account.
I have no credit card of theirs, I would buy a £1 Apple Giftcard top up

Yes, or just leave £100 in each? You don’t need to spend anything though, and you’d get two entries a month?

Correct. I may be tempted to go for their credit card if they accept me. Looks like that may be their goal otherwise they would have used debit card spend too for the third chance.

Santander is now trailing checking credit score in the My Home Manager section of the app. They are using TransUnion

If it wasn’t red I would.

I still have issues with their app asking mr to verify ID if I try to view my personal details, ID check never works. Their support team had no clue why. Will get some time when bored and escalate it to a conplaint

I had this issue for the card details and for adding to google wallet. They apparently called the technical team and said it was an ongoing issue with Google pixel devices but I don’t really believe them

They have to blame someone else. My issue is even weird. I could open a new current account and opened a regular saver today with no ID asked. I can view my personal details on web and even change them with no ID required.
In the app jus trying to view them requires D verification that fails.

Yeah and in all the banking apps I used I’ve never needed to scan my ID again just to access basic features
