I think I’m older than the average age of this forum (nearly 50) and surprised how much TV some of you watch - the media suggests it has gone out of fashion for younger people - clearly not.

The last show I watched with Ant and Dec in it was Byker Grove.

A nag screen in app, another in online banking, and now an email.

I cannot accuse Santander of reducing the rate on my Limited Edition Easy Saver in a fortnight and not letting me know :man_facepalming:

Agreed, but if you have multiple savings accounts, then it’s more challenging to know which one.

I have about 70 in total, but just the two at Santander, the other being the 7% Edge Saver, that’s maxed out.

Limited Edition will be nearly empty by 20 May anyway.

I now have the new app and am finding it a real pain.

Laggy and inconsistent.

I have just been able to check my PIN in-app but when I try to check card details, it wants photo ID to prove I’m me.

My app icon is currently showing I have a notification. I’ve just spent 15 minutes trying to establish what that might be.

I’ve gone in to every section of the app and either I’m missing somrthing blindingly obvious or it’s well hidden.

Several times in the last couple of days, the app has refused to open and/or closed down, citing ‘technical issues’

Edited to add: just ‘re-started’ my phone and the app icon’s notification has now gone.

Just got the update and personally happy with it. The fingerprint scanner opens up straight away when opening which is an improvement on the pilot. There are elements that could be smoother but it is still quick and works well. I think everything is laid out in a nice way as well.

Watch Santander backdate the end of credit interest to Day 1 though, obvs. Can’t have it paying you for its slack processes.

What type of savings are you closing? I could close my instant and regular savers instantly the only ones that took extra were ISA’s as they had a different team to speak to. It was still instant though.

Ive closed multiple Santander savings accounts and I don’t think any of them took 5 days to close.

I agree though it doesn’t make a difference to me either way if I’m closing an account. It’s not an immediate need function so just go about your life.

You definitely don’t each time. I never have.

Never had to myself. My friend had to but only needed to once.

Just opened an easy access saver with Yorkshire Building Society for when the rate of the Santander limited edition saver drops on Monday. Interest rate is 4.8% so not too bad and was easy to open.

Also opened a Zopa account as I had a friend referral with some free money. Will probably keep it open incase rates of YBS change.

Or family building society tracker at 4.86 on the ISA or 4.81 otherwise? No app but online access.

Did you miss the 5.08 on Zopa?
