You don’t have to be a couple. Friends works. Family works. Anyone works.
I’d generally have to get a train to those other people I want to travel with, then onward from there.
People over 30 are poor too, just saying. ![]()
If everyone gets a discount nobody gets a discount. There have to be lines or there’s no point.
I’m all for reducing rail costs; nationalise it and standardise it.
As it stands we have railcards, and a lot of folk are eligible for them in one way or another. Those that aren’t do tend to be those who are most likely to afford the full cost.
Because some can’t afford it doesn’t mean that it’s wrong. It’s life, there will always be people who don’t fit the criteria.
I think that’s almost a different topic though; railcards are usually for the longer train journeys not day to day.
Not in Germany: BahnCard: save with every journey
It’s not a straight forward discount in either case.
Again I know we can find use cases for almost anything but generally not. A lot of discounts don’t cover peak time travel so wouldn’t be of any use anyway.
If you go on holiday to Spain, it’s a yes as even the free account gives you free ATM withdrawals in their ATMs.
Moving mine to Chase at 5.1% AER.
But it hasn’t yet ![]()
I would say from September to now is more than a few months (it was limited edition and was only available for a week or so).
And it doesn’t decrease until the 20th.
With interest rates changing I wouldn’t expect large interest rates for long anywhere.
I’ve just got into the Pilot app on iOS for the first time. What an improvement! (I was under the impression they were about to replace the existing app with this one but for now they still seem to exist as separate options)
Some people do have the new app. It is being a phased rollout, probably to try to reduce the number of people impacted by any issues that arise with the rollout.
I haven’t closed any of the savings accounts that I’ve opened over the past couple of years so I can still play “chase the interest rate” when they all start to fall ![]()
Why Marcus? Zopa pay more on the ISA, at least if you opened it before April 6th.
Interesting new advert from Santander. Personally, I do like it and is a change to many of the more standard, boring banking adverts. I do also assume that their data suggests the public like their Ant and Dec adverts for them to keep them around for so long.
Ant & Dec aren’t on TV enough.
I know people complain about them being on TV a lot, but they don’t have that many shows. I think the main issue is that their shows all follow on from another at the same part of the year. 6 months of the year barely have any Ant and Dec, whilst the other half seems to have one nearly every week.
