Revolut chat

A topic to discuss all things Revolut!

https://www.revolut.com/personal-account/

Looks like the website has had a bit of a makeover.

Also noted:

Fast-track your payday

Switch your salary to Revolut to get paid 24 hours in advance with the Early Salary feature. That’s an extra day to hit your goals and get ahead. Applicable to BACS payments only.

It was always around 5pm the working day before it was due, not now 24 hours? Has the timing changed, can anyone confirm?

What happened to the Revolut topic?

I’m not sure, I would guess whoever created it, recently deleted their profile taking their threads with them :worried:

I have a Thunderball DD set up on Revolut. If any small winnings, it’s being paid just after 5pm

They still aren’t a bank yet, I see that their licence is still an e-money one. No current account switch option yet either.

You mean this?

That’s interesting. Presumably also means they support CASS in the other direction (ie to get switching bonuses)?

They are part of CASS, inbound, not sure on outbound.

I moved a Chase account to it no problem.

Kind of wild that the other thread has gone for this…

Well.

Does anyone use Revolut as a fully main bank?

I’m always curious if anyone has applied for something like a mortgage using Revolut as a main bank. Like do lenders care if you use Revolt (or Kroo etc).

I do, and have done for a number of years now.

Zero problems whatsoever.

Also, I applied for a mortgage without issue too. Although I’m in Ireland where Revolut is already fully licensed, at the time of getting the mortgage it was still e-money. The mortgage broker specifically called out and asked for Revolut statements as well as bank statements, probably indicating they were used to folk already using Revolut as a bank.

I think underwriting decisions get made by an actual person here with knowledge and experience though, not an algorithm - so couldn’t say how that would work in the UK if applying for a mortgage

I do recall seeing posts on Reddit about people using Revolut in the UK and not having any issues.

From a regulatory standpoint all they need to do is verify your funds are legitimate. Whether they are in an EMI or Bank it doesn’t make a difference as long as AML and KYC can be completed.

This was explained somewhere.

Someone creates a thread, and we are just replying to their thread, so once the initial comment goes, everything goes under it

Is disappointing but here we are.

@coffeemadman are you planning using Revolut all in?

They used to delete people by simply changing their username to “former member”, or something like that; I can’t remember exactly. That way, it kept all their old posts. However, some people said that wasn’t enough. They didn’t want to just have their posts anonymised, they wanted to be deleted completely, as if they, and their posts, had never existed.

My FT subscription has finally expired today a good 7 years after it should have done…

I see Revolut Metal includes a subscription to the FT for £15 a month (plus the other benefits) vs £60 a month direct through the FT. I think I’ll sign up for Metal solely to get the FT.

Anybody use Metal and any of the other benefits?

I’m on ultra but looking to move down to metal. I’m a big perplexity pro user which I think metal still includes and I also use the NordVPN.

Not Revolut, but my lender didn’t bat an eyelid with me using Monzo as my main bank.
