Looks like there are issues with payments today: https://monzo.statuspage.io/ and my app is running in the reduced functionality mode currently.
I wonder if this has anything to do with the new Availability Zone in AWS eu-west-2. Just a guess.

is actually very uncommon.
Monzo and Lloyds are my major 2, both went down for the past 2 consecutive days.
Maybe we really do need 35 different bank accounts…

No. But having a current account and savings with two separate providers (Nationwide and Santander in my case) makes sense. If you don’t mind dealing with two apps.
To be fair Monzo is still working for most of the urgent things - transfers aren’t often vital for the very moment. As long as you can see your balance and spend on card if needed you can normally wait.

NWG hasn’t had a current account outage in quite some time. They did have a credit card issue the other week ago.
I think card payments aren’t working for some people.
Lloyds, Nationwide, HMRC, DWP etc. all use Amazon Web Service, so when AWS is down we can’t access most services anyway.
There’s no escape from an AWS outage.

Who? Fully operational on status page. I just used mine fine too.
Still not eligible for a credit card with them yet.
But I have their uFirst Private Account and it always works perfectly.
Never had a outage or problem with Ulster yet

Interestingly, my Lloyds and Santander, NatWest and Nationwide are working
HSBC is working fine.
