I am one of those people. And being honest the 10 pot restriction did make me have to rethink and group some things together. I would be fine with the limit at 10 on the sole accounts and then 20 on the joint account. Though some of these build up over time. Like I have a wedding pot that is going to be building up for some time
Haha it’s not exactly a bad thing and I understand that people like to manage things differently but now we have savings pots that generate interest, there is even more of an incentive to consolidate all your pots so that you can actually make some money from it.
I have a joint account too and I think when pots come to that I will have even less pots. For example me and my partner have a kids savings pot each, so when they’re launched on joint accounts we will only need the one and that frees up a “slot” on each of our personal accounts.
In my opinion the only time it could get to the point where you need quite a few pots, is if they bring out shared pots where you can save with other Monzo users. That brings all sorts of issues with it though and may never happen
My plan there is as soon as a pot builds up past £1k will move it over.
Just seen this on Making Monzo.
Do you think they were aware the image they used for their Norway pic is known as the “Trolls Tongue”?
The ultimate Norwegian troll from Monzo?
Ooooh, this is exciting! I really like the look of it and the fact that there will hopefully either be more pictures available or the option to add a custom image!
Love this sneak peak.
Think the pot “feed” has been long needed if im honest.
Pots are treated like mini ringfenced accounts for the majority so I think an actual timeline of ins and outs was needed in some shape or another.
Also custom images sooner rather than later please
Definitely! I want to be able to see a statement/transaction history for my Pots, not just a total in/out figure.
One question regarding pots with interest. I appreciate interest is only paid if you put over £1,000 into the pot - however is the interest paid on all of the balance or only the bit over £1,000? For instance if I put £2,000 into a put do I get interest on £2,000 or only £1,000? Thanks
You’ll get interest on the £2,000.
Great news thanks for confirming
I like the home deposit thing but I think they should look into offering a lifetime ISA to get the 25% bonus a year
I’ll just leave this here
Massive improvement! Is this for real or a mock-up??
Always seemed odd to me that transactions had their own page whereas Pots didn’t - even when a pot could represent months of saving up etc.
Knowing @nexusmaniac, I’m guessing he dug this out from an Android APK, so it’ll be official/upcoming.
It’s a mockup screenshot from the design team’s Sketch file for the iOS app, I doubt he dug it out of an Android build.
Ah OK, cheers. Thought it may have been a forthcoming splash page or something
Nah, those lil numbers in the top left are the giveaway. They’re Monzo’s internal numbering of mockups.
See the design blog that was posted yesterday - it’s pretty interesting >> https://monzo.com/blog/2018/12/11/design-files-system/
Yep as @hdwrng has eluded to, this is a sketch - it was sent out by Monzo in the “Making Monzo December” email
Just wanted to share it because not everybody receives those emails (and I’ve got no idea how to sign up for them )
(@Hatticus, the little numbers in the top left indicate that these are sketches, just for future reference )
How on earth do we sign up for that email? I’ve put my address into various newsletter forms, but still not getting it!
And cheers for clarifying
Ask COps in a support chat to be opted in to marketing emails (and the Making Monzo email). That’s what I had to do anyway as I’d somehow become opted out when changing my email address.
