Yes, that’s exactly what I thought… I thought I was going slightly crazy
Good to know, I’ve been legacy-free for a while so assumed there would’ve been some attempts at catching up in the last few years…
Team this was on the train to Brighton from Farringdon
Great positioning.
I’d argue this is not london centric
Nice
Another one!
I expect London is their target market?
They are (almost) the only differentiator. But it is a good one, lost of people like knowing somethings gone through when it goes through.
Yeah and pricing reflects exposure so not going to be more cost effective I’d guess
I’m pretty sure the whole UK is their target market.
But…
Not really. To equal the population of London, you need to target the next 6 biggest cities, and even then you’re short by 600,000 people (or, to put it another way, adding the next 7 biggest cities together gives you slightly more people than in London):

Edit: I’m not saying Monzo shouldn’t eventually target other cities/areas, but it’s pretty obvious to me (as someone living north of the border!) why you would start with London.
I’d consider the bill splitting a pretty good differentiator, don’t think many incumbents offer it on Monzo’s level?
And the tabs (which is a form of bill splitting) which I find so useful. Game changing.
Nobody checked the homepage yet then? (may be an A/B test, not sure everyone sees it yet)
Barclays do it.
Possibly a/b, nothing there for me at the moment.
Yeah, my partner isn’t seeing it on her laptop yet either and we’re in the same room.
Could be that some data is cached to pull the old site, a private browser safari window shows the new page.
With all the new tube ads does this mean we might see TV/youtube ads at some point?
Mobile version:
Further down the page has also had little refresh:
Edit: only just noticed the number has gone up from 28K to 35k per week.
That second screen on desktop…
The illustration of the ads are out of this world good! Well done to everyone who worked on the design of them, they are amazing!
