Agreed. I hit 20 and then had to rethink my piggybanking/envelope budgeting until it’s raised.
Very much need more pots too. Seems a bit strange to have a limit.
Just throwing in my bi annual bumping of this thread.
Now we’re seeing more features to manage budgets/savings in Plus, I’d throw in a 2020 request to increase the number of pots you can have.
With the Google Export in Plus, I’m finding now I am wanting to make more pots than ever, as I can manage them differently / think about them as Envelopes with the power of Google Sheets.
So yeah, more pots please Monzo gods.
Yeah desperate for more pots now. 50 please!
Another bump for an increase to pots. Even doing a little aggregating the current limit is too low.
At a minimum this should be a Plus perk, but ideally something for all. Pots are the best feature.
Yes need this as I have a joint account and 20 is not enough for different project savings. Please increase this asap, doesn’t seem any logic in having this cap, otherwise it defeats the point of having pots in the first place!
Bumping this as we are still stuck on twenty pots for joint accounts which isn’t enough for anyone trying to save for projects and being smart with their money. Can we please raise this to fifty or ideally unlimited. Please vote this up people
I’ve given you a +1 (not that it makes any difference) but my oh my, managing 20+ would be a nightmare for me.
We’re up to 8 and that feels excessive and almost like separating for the sake of it.
We got really giddy separating loads of pots at first.
We found that progress on them was really slow because our salary was spread so thin across them, let alone the management of them as you mentioned. We found it more rewarding to combine and/or only save for a handful of things at a time. The progress bars move a lot more and it kept us motivated without feeling that we’re still a million miles away.
So we carried this over when ‘spending from pots’ became a thing. And rather than having a pot for each thing:- Groceries, butchers, haircuts and so on.. we just have a ‘monthly spend budget’ pot for similar reasons.
Each to their own though! There’s no one size fits all strategy here
Man I thought I was excessive. I used to have 1 per week between my 4 weekly income with a handful of others.
Now I’m down to
Monthly savings
Savings
New Car savings pot
Bills
Roundup
Food
How can you guys possibly need so many???
I just counted mine and I have 16! I didn’t spot it get so ridiculous
Some of mine are holding money for longer term things. Paying back my corporate degree costs or keeping a tattoo specific slush fund so I can always afford a couple in case inspiration strikes.
Then there are random things like putting money aside to pay my governing body membership fee or saving for a new shiny thing from Apple

Personal account, 7 pots; joint account 17 pots; business account 13 pots. Some of the joint account pots are consolidated, such as “Annual memberships/subscriptions”.
We should have multiple unlimited pots as it makes it easier to manage and pay the bills as the money can go from the pot while ill still have funds in my main account
This has come up many times before, a quick search and you’ll see a fair bit of discussion.
Note - Alan has merged posts in case anyone is wondering what the context of this comment was
Surely can’t have more than 20 bills? Have you tried grouping them IE council tax, elec, water, broadband and tv into “house bills”
Hi @realslicktube & welcome
Unless I’ve completely misread the issue, this is what Bills pots do. Ideally, a singular ‘Bills pot’ - transfer a chunk of money into the designated Bills pot which covers all the bills (except CPA’s) assigned to the Bills pot and just let it work automagically.
Doing it this way, I have ONE pot to manage, linked to ONE account. Management is minimal and visibility is total. It is 99% automatic, especially when you pre-load the Bills pot with the Salary Sorter feature. Killer combo…
Why place a limit at all? Pots is the main reason that I use Monzo and being limited at 20 restricts my ability to organise and separate my finances.
20 pots simply isn’t enough, at least for me
So could we up the limit to 30 perhaps.
That’s it.
