In one of the YouTube clips I’ve seen, it was suggested that the number of ‘active’ card holders was a key metric within Monzo.
Clearly, now that some of us have current accounts it’s possible that our prepaid card use will plummet as we replace one with the other. If they’re really looking at card use, the metric could get a bit skewed between the current account preview rollout and the closedown of the prepaid programme.
Of course, you could overlay the CA users on the same graph and run the risk of double counting anyone still using both.
Can monzo not automate this as they have the live rollout numbers? They could dedicate a page on the website to this information. Would be one of the first to be so public with this information.
They should get some old skool counter on the wall at Monzo HQ which automatically pulls in the number of live account holders. I remember a nearby Shoreditch bar The Book Club having a similar counter linked to their running total of Facebook likes. You could like/unlike them and see it update on the wall in front of you!
It would be cool to know how many users from other countries have registered and are stuck on the “Coming to your country soon” screen. ( I know one for sure: me )
That screen is bugged for me btw, I can’t click on the “Invite Friends” button, and the animation doesn’t work.
I’m not from the UK and I know that I’ll have to wait, it’s just that on this screen:
(which you get if you register for Monzo and you’re not from the UK)
I used to be able to invite Friends by clicking “Share more Invites” a few months ago. I was also able to hold the screen and drag it down, which would trigger an animation. None of this works anymore, the app does however react to my touch inputs.(Although it doesn’t actually do anything useful like allowing me to invite friends)
As you can see it’s not that big of a problem, just a little bug I found. The main thing you should take away from my post is, that it would be cool to know the number of people that are, like me, waiting for Monzo to launch in their country.
In fairness, those would be interesting stats.
I would if it would be possible to add (maybe on the Transparancy pages) a demographic breakdown of users?
