After Monzo changed Investment provider, I went ahead and set up a few new funds. In total I have 3 different funds for my Stocks & Shares ISA. Initially I found it weird that the app only gave me a combined sum and investment return (in £’s and %) for all funds together, and that I couldn’t see the individual return & original investment for each fund. I checked if my app was up to date, which it was and I thought it might be under development and part of a future iteration.
Then earlier this week, I logged in and suddenly this information was AVAILABLE for each fund. I could see return in £ and %, and if I clicked into a specific fund, I could see the amount invested as well as the total amount (investment+return). Unfortunately I didn’t take screenshots, as I thought there might have been a release fixing this, but today - it’s back to normal, and the information is gone.
I have checked the recent app release notes, and none of them mention any changes to “investments”.
Is this a bug or what’s happening?
Screenshots:
The one day, where I could see more information, it would show return in £-value and %-increase under each fund on this page.
Under a specific fund under ‘your investment’ it would show the original amount invested as well as current value (and one more item I can’t remember now)
If I select any active Investment Account in my portfolio, I can see ‘Value’, ‘Perfomance’ and ‘Invested’ in the ‘Your investment’ section - it seems to be behaving as expected?
Well hence my post. One day I could see it, now I can’t…. something is not behaving as expected. So if you look at my picture above, I assume you see more under the “your investment” section.
Well doesn’t quite explain, how it wasn’t available last week, available earlier this week and now not available again - for me that is. Unless they are doing A/B testing on me, in which case I prefer if they didn’t and just showed me the information
If you refer to my last sentence, I’m sorry - should have made it clear that I was being ironic, as per my knowledge, you don’t do A/B testing on one person (thought my smiley indicated that)
Your reasoning was that it could be A/B testing since I’m on iOS and David is on Android OS. My response was that I have been on iOS the entire time - both when I could see it, and when I couldn’t see it.
No. Haven’t done that - and don’t really want to. Haven’t touched the app (other than the tumbleweed updates) from when it was unavailable, available and unavailable again.
Also, while I appreciate the method for A/B testing is completely within Monzo’s control, I will argue that you rarely swap back and forth (OFF-ON-OFF) within what I believe was less than 7 days and you rarely do swap your control (A) and variation groups (B) around. Messy analysis. Could be wrong, and if so - I hope they establish the full view of your investment details serve customers better than what I currently have
Thanks, but I am aware of the basic troubleshooting steps for tech
But to not leave you hanging, just did so and no change - as expected.
My post was mainly out of curiosity, and to help Monzo if there indeed is a bug. I can manage without this information and hope it will appear again at some point in the future.
I’m still having inconsistencies with investments and would be great if someone from the @Monzo product team could shed some light on this.
For a while now, I have been able to see details of two funds under investments (like performance & invested amount), but not for my third fund (Adventurous) as per picture below. As shown, two of the funds have %-performance under their name, and when you click into it, it shows further details like original amount invested. But nothing of this is available for the “Adventurous” fund.
It’s annoying, as it is the best performing fund and it’s difficult to work out profit, as I keep adding funds to it and all I see is a combined figure.
But guess I’m more puzzled about the inconsistencies. When I made the original post none of funds showed the details, so I guess 2/3 is better than nothing
