Yeah I understand that it’s not for everyone. For me, something about it just clicked. I love the freedom to build/craft what I like, the amount of recipes/items to collect and the lack of any real goal.
I also like the changing seasons and how they subtly change. It really felt like an escapism. Especially as work was pretty stressful for me for the first half of 2020 and we had a very ill family member.
Now I’ve played the game for well over a year and collected pretty much everything it’s understandably got less attraction and was also why I was disappointed at the lack of E3 news. But even so, it’ll always be one of my favourite games, I’m sure!
Astral Chain is pretty good. I’ve enjoyed what I’ve played of it so far. If you like games like Devil May Cry, but with a Anime style, it’s worth a look.
Yeah, not worth upgrading if you have the OG model. Nice to see some movement from Nintendo though.
I’m also in the camp that hasn’t really touched my Switch since buying the PS5. But! Skyward Sword HD is out soon.
My only issue now is that I was about to start Red Dead 2, but I doubt I’d finish it before Skyward Sword HD comes out. I try to only play one game at a time
Just wandering off-topic briefly to say that the iOS 15 beta can add spatial audio effects to stereo sources, and yes it sounds wild. You can turn it on/off by long pressing on the volume slider in Control Centre.
And back on topic: it’s about time I got a Switch Lite and got BotW done and out of the way.
I honestly would recommend a full Switch for BotW. The environment can be quite rich, and a lot of the magic is in distance, spotting things that are quite far away and figuring out the best way to get to them and explore what’s there. I briefly played it handheld when I needed to charge the controllers, and found it a much worse experience compared to playing it on the TV.
Other games arguably work better handheld or there’s no meaningful difference, but I do feel like you’d be getting a reduced experience with BotW if you only play handheld.
