New Zealand Dollar, $, NZD
POS acceptance, including contactless, is great.
If you are prompted to select Credit, Checking or Savings, while making a payment, select Credit.
Some merchants charge a credit card surcharge for foreign debit cards.
You will need to enable Magstripe withdrawals in order to use BNZ ATMs.
Banking is a lot different in NZ in that if you use another banks ATM you get charged a fee, even for kiwi’s e.g. using a BNZ visa in an ANZ ATM will yield a fee.

The contactless limit is NZD $80 (approx 40GBP).

For those visiting Hobbiton, they didn’t seem to accept the pre-paid Monzo card so we would recommend carrying cash for all of your souvenirs
