I’m wondering what peoples thoughts were on this because I would find it really useful.
When using a shared tab, and the amount I owe or owed to me might be larger than what I currently have in my account, maybe my allowances will refresh in a couple of days, but I would like to pay part of it back to the person right now. or receive part of it asap.
Currently its all or nothing, settle tab or don’t. I would like to see a feature where I could settle part of the tab.
Thoughts?
You can currently only pay off the entire tab you owe of a shared tab. Would be great if you could pay it off in your choice of amounts.
Example, I owe for my share of flights but bought them together. I can’t pay off the full amount now but I’d like to start repaying
Hello,
Me and my partner use the Shared Tab in place of a joint account.
Sometimes one person builds up a bit owed and instead of settle the lot, we may pay 30 pounds or the like.
At present to balance the tab we have to transfer the money then manually add it to the tab to reduce the total owed.
Wondering if a solution could be found to allow part settlement through the shared tab itself.
Appreciate there are other priorities at present but just out for discussion.

My partner and I utilise the Monzo Shared Tab feature every single day, some times add large purchases to the tab, that the other cannot afford to pay off the entire tab at once that month. It would be SUPER useful if we had the option to pay off parts of the tab than the current only option of paying the entire tab off entirely.
I imagine there must be many other people utilising this Shared Tab feature and finding they need want to pay off chunks rather than the entire tab when heavily utilis…
I love the ideas within the Shared Tab on Monzo, the Bill Splits (including the new reminders) and the Shared Tab work brilliantly!
But, what if there was the ability to include “Installments” on the Shared Tab for money that you owe an individual/organisation where, like you do by adding transactions to the Shared Tab, it has the ability for you to add what the amount owed in total is and gives you the option to chip away at that with installments - whether those installments be a standing ord…
I have a shared tab with my partner and it would be really helpful to be able to still keep all items in the tab but pay off part of what I owe.
New feature request: I’m using shared tabs quite a lot and sometimes, when one person pays quite a lot, it’s difficult to pay it off in one go. It would be great to pay whatever I can pay at that moment instead of the full amount.
I’m a new convert to Monzo and I absolutely love it so far! Me and my partner have a joint account and it saves so much hassle trying to figure out who owes what.
One thing though, say I pay £90 for something… And I request my partner pay me £45, I can only see the option to pay the full amount of £45 instead can we have a way to pay it back gradually?
When you have a shared tab or split the bill it would be helpful to be able to pay off incrementally rather than just in full. For example if you pay a big holiday bill and your partner is paying back monthly you can track their progress to paying it off.
This one has the most votes
It would be nice to be able to pay a tab only partially if the amount of money in the account is not enough to pay it 100%.
I found myself in a position when I want to repay immediately part of it but I can (example shared monthly mortgage ) but I don’t need to repay the rest.
We’d love to use the shared tab but It cannot work like that.
Could it be useful?
We could use the “request money” feature but we want to keet track of all transactions in the shared tab, it is easier.
