I can really imagine how frustrating this would have been, but it’s also hilarious in my mind.
@Revels created a dashboard for people with Plus/Premium, in it there’s a section to rename merchants. As an example, a certain members only adult site was renamed to RSPCA so it appeared as that throughout the rest of the dashboard
Oh, @Alexxxxx got their first
You know you spend too much time on the Forum when everyone who you talk about Spreadsheets, Fountain Pens and Thermostats with get a joke about the RSPCA.
Ironically, ‘Tom’ didn’t get the in-forum joke!

iCards - though that may not go down well with a certain American mega company
Maybe Digital Cards or Online Cards may be better. If you plan to allow adding to Apple Pay etc at somepoint then Digital Cards would be better than Online Cards I guess.
A disposable card that you can bin after one use.
Your bank account’s VPN
CardintheCloud ™
A disposable card, perhaps?
How about a card you delete by accident? 🤦
How did you manage that?
I’m not sure
first thing I knew was I got a declined payment to my online payment card
I think many descriptions tend to come with more questions from the friend.
It’s hard to describe them as temporary, because they’re time bound by a number of days.
It’s hard to describe them as protecting your money, because when using an untrustworthy company anything in the main balance is at risk.
Even if we get ‘pay from pot’ I think the other thing missing from being able to describe them as “a limited use card, to protect your finances” is being able to set a transaction limit (quantity and amount).
My friends know what a virtual card is ![]()
Just none of them has Monzo account, because of online articles (don’t want to repeat my self) ![]()

I use my virtual Monzo cards for my online subscriptions ![]()

Does anyone use Monzo plastic debit card
?
I use Monzo for subscriptions, so don’t use a plastic card, virtuals only
Did order a blue card just for my collection really (after I upgraded to Plus). Was not impressed, hot coral looks much more interesting
Used it a little pre-pandemic (Joint account card) but contactless payments and the odd-ATM wihdrawal. Used only Google Pay via phone since. Did manage to use my metal card while abroad last October - that gained quite a lot of attention.
Never use my card. Just ordered a replacement. Went with blue for a change. This news disappoints me!
I am a little annoyed I have to learn a new card number!
I have decided to just learn a virtual card number to avoid the relearning but then it only has a 4 year expiry. Why can’t it be more?! At least it doesn’t change if you lose the physical one I suppose, so more of a ‘guaranteed’ 4 years
My virtual cards has 5 years expiry (2021 to 2026) ![]()
Are you sure yours are 4 years?
