New Community Structure!

Hello! :wave:

You might have noticed that we’ve changed the Community structure a bit. But don’t worry - it’s mostly just renaming the categories and moving some into each other.

Why?

Good question! Previously we had 11 top-level categories, which is pretty overwhelming. And they weren’t all getting the love they deserve.

So we’ve reduced it down. We hope this makes it more welcoming to everyone, especially new folks.

But as usual, we’re always listening. So if you’ve got any thoughts or feedback - we’re all ears :ear:

Looks too big, now and emojis are big too…

Looks like the native Windows 10 emojis

On Desktop the left and right columns are of significantly different lengths now, which looks a bit odd…

Travelling with Monzo now goes to a 404 (under Monzo Chat)

Edit - actually, every subcategory except ideas now goes to a 404

Try refreshing a few times! Looks like a temporary caching thing.

I can see it being a bit noisy (and potentially causing compatibility issues).

I’ll experiment with an emoji-lite version in a bit.

I’ve reduced the number of categories in Latest to 10 now, to make it a bit more useful.

I’m also considering switching to the view that shows the latest in each category instead, which looks cleaner IMO -

It certainly looks cleaner, but I quite liked the long list of updated posts…

It would be nicer if you didn’t have to scroll on a 1080p display.

Not a fan of the new structure, think it makes the place look quiet bare instead of tidy looking. Before i could see right away any new topics say in sneak peak, now it’s bundled in with News/Updates.

Will see how i adjust to it

The testing continues!

I’ve switched to the Category & Featured view for the landing page. It’s much cleaner I think, while actually displaying more threads.
