Ohh, I must have missed that! This will actually make it easier for me to watch it now, so I thank you for alerting me to the move
This item mentions both the Disney and Netflix price rises, and the Disney move to include more ‘mature’ content in their offer. Scroll down for a comparison of offers. Disney increase in Feb 2021.
My Disney+ is up for renewal review in April 2021, so post-price increase.
Other than The Mandalorian, I have not really watched much of that channel, so shall have to evaluate whether it is worth £79/year, going forward.
May depend what is on the Star upgrade
I have Netflix, Disney and Amazon, and Plex
If Amazon didn’t come with quick delivery free delivery I’d cancel it instantly. I think Futurama and Stinky and Dirty / Blaze are the only things played on it.
Disney Plus is just about worth the £50 with the ten quid discount. Enjoying the Mandalorian but not much else. Seen the Marvel and Star Wars films many a time. The Disney and Pixar played repeatedly in the house.
NowTV have just emailed, 50% off Sky Movies for next 6 months. Think I’ll jump on that!
If not mentioned. Ted Lasso is great. Not watched anything else though!
Just finished Season 2 ![]()
Time to pick up a subscription then, I’ve a week off coming up so perfect time to binge watch whatever I can.
Mine’s still saying £8.99 a month and I haven’t been notified of an increase from Netflix.
They like to tell you at the last moment.
Mine us due on 8th, so I’ll see if any change.
I’m not surprised it’s happening given how popular it’s becoming.
Just finished the last available 12 episodes of Season 3. Looks like there should be a few more to come before that season is complete.
FYI
They can take my money! UK lockdown 3! I’d be joking if I said that Netflix hasn’t saved the day a few times in the last year!!!
From what I’ve seen (and experienced), the grandfathering is temporary.
You pay £4 extra a month just to be charged through iTunes rather than just… give them your card details?
Sounds like an ideal candidate for virtual cards
That would solve most of those issues and you can then apply that to other services too.
Presumably that doesn’t protect you against price rises, though, as it’s still taking the monthly amount from your gift card balance? Or am I misunderstanding?
Can you buy them at a discount?
I once tried this with Spotify but for some stupid reason they’re not eligible towards Family accounts.
It would be good if Apple could wrap up all subscriptions into one monthly payment. That would be even better. Annoying when you have one day one Apple store subscription and then another a few days later etc. - bit like Apple one but for 3rd subs as well!
