I’m pretty sure I’ve received it before but I have attempted the switch offer anyway.
Switch completed Friday and requirements fulfilled Saturday so I’ll report back if I get the bonus.

Their systems are a bit odd. On a different current account you hear the majority of people getting the bonus again
But when people push it and try to switch within the group or do 3 at once there have been reports of account closures
Same
Well that was different. Unlike Chase, NatWest club all the cleared transactions roundups together and transfer it as one sum.
I’ve had NatWest and RBS, tried with Ulster too but it took so long to open the account that the offer had expired.
That how Lloyds and Halifax do it; one lump sum the next day.
Has anyone ever had an automatic credit limit increase on their credit card? Had mine a few years, use it occasionally, never been offered an increase.
No, and in my experience you won’t. I used their credit card eligibility checker and it said I was eligible for a new card with a limit as high as £8000 (I already had one NatWest and one RBS card), but when I requested to increase my existing card from £5000 to £7000 they refused, every time I tried. Never made much sense. So I’d never see them automatically increasing it.
I ticked a box to opt into this when applying
But doesn’t seem like it’ll happen
I’ve had two cards with them for 10 years now, but they’ve never offered an increase.
They do review the usage, as one I hardly use, so they send me letters asking if I still want it and to use it.
The rate is too good to close it down, 8% (used to be 6%) and you can’t get the card anymore.
so I am switching away from natwest now over to monzo. Natwest have been good, but it just frustrates me so much not having notifications of when your direct debits are due to come out or if they are going up or down.
I have both.
No need to sacrifice access to the Digital Saver for Monzo account.
Same, Natwest for my daily spend and the DRS accounts, Monzo for savings pots and child accounts.
Assuming Halifax Bank of Scotland
HBOS is owned by Lloyds Banking Group, as Bank of Scotland, which includes Halifax and the global entities of HBOS.
So in essence Halifax is just a brand name of Bank of Scotland?
I wonder whether long term they will go down the same route of chopping the English Halifax branches like NatWest did with the RBS branches below the border.
Possible, but I think unlikely. Halifax is a strong brand in England, particularly in the north. It was the biggest building society in the world, for many years. Generations of people have saved their money with the Halifax and taken out Halifax mortgages to buy their houses. Halifax branches were everywhere.
Royal Bank of Scotland has an ancient history in Scotland, but it was practically unheard of in England until the 1980s, when all the Williams & Glyn’s Bank branches were changed to RBS. It was always a small bank, so the branches aren’t missed as much as Halifax branches.
I think these belong in the Lloyds thread really @AlanDoe as my post will also be themed thus.
That is the plan, branch wise, but that’s because there are, or were, numerous brands from across the group within close proximity. It makes logical sense to do that.
But as @RSheff notes the Halifax brand is extremely well known in the North so they’d have to still reference the brand in its own and as part of the Hub as we’re talking generations of people who will still refer to it as such.
My fault sorry!
