I’ve been in touch with the in-app support chat. I asked why Favourites has been removed from Pay Someone for me and many others.
In true Monzo customer support style they first repeatedly ignored the question, with both the AI and a human telling me “Please kindly go to Show All Payees.”
No, that’s not what I asked, sorry. So someone else said they’d look into it and escalate to the developers if they couldn’t resolve themselves, please stand by…
… and then half an hour later they advised me that “You can find Favourites in Show All Payees”
Repeated my question about why it’s been removed for many people but not others, and when is it being replaced where it belongs please?
They’ve escalated to the developers “so they can determine if anything can be done at their end”.
I fully expect the developers to suggest that I kindly go to Show All Payees, lol… Maybe they’ll surprise me!
I imagine they just realise there’s another way to access favourites to pay them, which means that keeping them in this area while they move stuff around wasn’t a high important thing to do.
I’m not saying that’s the thing, but imo that’s probs the thought - and they’ll add it in again later. Hopefully.
I never pay people via that screen - I tend to go to the payee & then pay them, via the “See all payees” page. So that’s why I’ve not seen this issue personally.
I see those tiles on my payments screen too but I’ve never noticed them until just now. And I have to do a full screen scroll to find them, then another scroll right along the row of tiles to get to the one I want.
However, the logical workflow of making a payment is to go to Payments and then Pay Someone, surely. Mo scrolling necessary: tap payments tap pay someone, tap the appropriate favourite, done. Favourites belong inside Pay Someone. Otherwise there are suddenly multiple different required methods to pay someone depending on if they’re a favourite or not. And if they are it’s LESS intuitive to pay them.
