I’m currently trying to move my Monzo Stocks and Shares ISA over to Trading 212, mainly to take advantage of the lower fees and increased control.
I’ve used the Portfolio Transfer tool in Trading 212 before (it worked perfectly for my Nutmeg transfer), but I’m hitting a wall with Monzo. It seems to be a conflict in how the transfer is categorized:
If I select “Stocks and Shares” in the T212 app, it says the provider (Monzo) doesn’t allow this type of transfers.
If I select “Cash,” Monzo rejects the request because the account I hold with them is technically a Stocks and Shares ISA.
When I moved from Nutmeg, the “Stocks and Shares” path allowed me to choose between Cash Value or In-Specie, but that doesn’t seem to be an option here. Has anyone successfully moved a Monzo ISA to Trading 212? If so, did you have to go through a specific manual process?
I transferred my Monzo S&S ISA into a T212 S&S ISA late 2024. All went pretty smoothly as I recall.
Whole process from initiation to funds received in T212 was under 6 weeks.
My only complaint was with how long it took Monzo to sell off my assets. The market had a downward turn shortly after I initiated the transfer, which meant I realised about £900 of lost gains while Monzo was taking FOREVER to liquidate my portfolio.
