Apologies if this is in the wrong section. Just wondered if anyone else is noticing a regular soft search on their credit file by Monzo? I have the Experian alert service and since the beginning of December Monzo has made a soft search on my file on a weekly basis, and I’m not sure why? I’ve had a loan with them for a couple of years and have Monzo Flex which I’m not currently utilising, but I don’t have an overdraft and I’ve not applied for any new credit with them. Is this related to the credit score reporting with Monzo Max? If so, seems odd the alerts have only started happening since December as I’ve had Max since it launched. Any ideas?
It’ll be related to the credit score within your paid subscription, Max in this instance.
Monzo will soft check to gather the data to show you in the app.
Soft searches don’t impact anything either if that was your concern.
Ah, that makes sense and I guess more or less tallies with when Experian was added to Max in late September - thanks!
I was just becoming alarmed at the volume more than anything!
I think the soft search goes more related to having flex even if you don’t use it, i don’t have Max but i have Flex and 4 soft searches each month from Monzo.
I also have Flex but only started getting regular Monzo soft searches when I upgraded to Extra. It’s definitely the credit insights that are responsible.
Flex wouldn’t repeatedly check in this manner. It may do now and then, but not weekly or so like insights may.
