Morning. Just stopping by to tell you all that I dreamt about Monzo Points last night.

It’s taking over. Help.

Just wanted to say - This seems like a great idea. Having posted a few minutes ago about why I don’t use Monzo as my main account, this is the type of thing that would make me consider changing!

I doubt it, so forgive me for asking the obvious - but in this screenshot, how exactly can one get a “free vegan sausage roll”? Is it the cost of a vegan sausage roll that is credited? In which case, why can’t I just get a coke, crisps or whatever? Or is there a way for Greggs to actually know it’s a vegan sausage roll?

The others all seem simple enough, although a “free coffee” from pret - again, how would that work - a cash amount similar to clicksnap etc? If so, why not just say that as I think it would drastically reduce questions like this!

Dare I ask what it was about? Did you become a points millionaire? :moneybag:

I don’t think Monzo know whether you’ve bought a vegan sausage roll or not. I think they’re just using that as an example of something that costs exactly £1.

You can certainly interpret that from the below screenshot. So I’d say you could buy anything and you’ll simply get a £1 refund back.

I got the £1 refund but definitely didn’t buy a vegan sausage roll.

Fair enough, thought that would be the case

In which case why say a “vegan sausage roll” or a “free coffee”. Why not just say £x off like the other slots?

I guess they are doing some kind of testing as to who perceives what best. Maybe some people like to be told they can have a “free” coke or whatever. But I’d sure most people would rather just be told £1 off?!

Just my 2 pence worth (or free sweet…)

Yeah I think you’re spot on. It’s all trial and error at this stage and gathering data etc.

Greggs isn’t officially making this offer, but I can imagine if they were they’d word it similar as the vegan sausage roll is the newest thing to their “menu”. So it would be part of their PR campaign  This is why it would be better than simply saying “£1 off”.

I think a middle ground would be best - “Get £1 back - enough to try the new Vegan sausage roll!”

Not quite that exciting, just that I paid with Google Pay and got more points! 🤦

Did you submit a tax return in your dream too?

You need some more practise at this dreaming thing

It is a great idea! Worth considering cashback offers, similar to the ones offered by American Express.

Any news when more users can be added to the trial? I signed up in day one. :frowning:

Hopefully you’ll get to try it :soon:.

Failing that, the trial ends on 5th August. They’ll need time to weigh up the feedback and determine the route ahead, but it shouldn’t be too long before it’s rolled out on a wider scale.

The greggs offer has officially finished and im nowhere near a pret.

Will new offers be adding for existing trial customers who are on ios?

Android only have those too  The only different being the Google Pay offer.

Any more news on when this is going to be rolled out to more people that signed up to trial this ?

I can’t see them being far off launching this to be honest, so I doubt there will be another trial roll out :crossed_fingers:
