How are First Direct near the top and HSBC near the bottom? Surely they would share the same sort of security?

Can’t speak for HSBC, but if you ever change phones, or somehow need to reset your digital secure key on First Direct… I can assure you the security is top notch… So much so, that you’ll do well to ever regain access of your own account :joy:

Yeah I know. I used to be with First Direct. I know the security is good I just don’t get why HSBC is near the bottom when it’s near enough the same bank.

Yes HSBC use the same security around digital security keys in–app, I believe.

Santander faired well… I have never had a problem with them… I just joined Monzo and looking forward trying out its services

I never regained access of my first direct app. Logged in via web with limited functionality for months before they terminated my account for not paying in enough money  Good riddance!

I can’t speak to those, as I’ve never used them, but the programme was looking at security primarily as related to logging in (2FA etc) and setting up new payees.

Monzo did well because of push notifications through the app in the main.

Does that apply to Monzo? Is the email link 2FA?

Thought Santander used text message one–time passwords which are susceptible to SIM swap attack.
