This guy has always preferred revolut in his content, but watch his jaw drop at 3mins42 when guest says Monzo’s app is clearly better than Revolut’s.

I think the guy on the right is (somewhat) correct about the big pockets idea of how to grow in Europe. While Monzo don’t necessarily have big pockets just yet, it’s a snowball rolling down the hill in the UK and you can already see the increase in marketing spend, with referrals, rugby and cricketing sponsorships.
To catch up Revolut in Spain Monzo will have to drop some cash. You’d also hope that with Europe being so travel friendly they may already have a bit of reputational benefit with UK citizens bigging it up to their Spanish mates. Maybe not to a large degree, but it would be surprising if younger, tech savvy customers weren’t aware who Monzo were on the continent.
Lastly, I think business banking could be a huge driver of success in Europe. If we consider Monzo almost got into business banking as an afterthought, and have now developed what appears to be the market leader, being able to drop that sort of offering right off the bat could help fuel growth and their presence enormously
