Monzo giving two months’ notice of account closures

I must say tho these account closures unrelated to fraud but have no other reasoning seems to be doing more harm than good for them. I wonder if they’ll come out with so sort of communication around this.

How do you know they’re all unrelated to fraud?

I’ve also not seen much mentioned of this outside of this community. Have you found some details on how it has impacted the bank?

So reading through this it seems accounts are being closed with notice.
We can speculate but I doubt Monzo will specifically say why they are closing any accounts.
I’d be a little upset but if they don’t want you it’s time to move on.
Here’s hoping I don’t get an email.

Looking forward to the flurry of topics in just under 2 months time when people who have ignored the email suddenly find their accounts closed “for no reason” and come here to scream about it.

Set your alarms folks!

That’s not stopped folk debating before. :smirk:

@monzobot remind me in 55 days

Hi! To find out what I can do, say @monzobot display help.

Even Siri would do better.

I used Siri for just this over at the other place. About 6 months ago someone reckoned Monzo would be sold to a big bank within the next 18 months. They asked their words be marked, so naturally I marked them.

Edit: done the same for this

I need to start using Siri more

What do you say to Siri to link it to the thread?

“Hey Siri, remind me of this website in x days”

Actually had no idea that you could do this!

It works for emails, too.

So following this thread hasn’t been entirely pointless!

Do you need to have the email open for this to work?

Learning every day

Love your two priorities there. Forum word marking and dental hygiene.

Both very important.

Reminds me I need to order some new ones…

Yes. I think it only works in the Mail app. If you have an email open on the screen, and say “Remind me about this (whenever)” when you open the reminder (or long press the notification), there will be a link to that email presented as an icon on the right of the screen.

Yes, we had a small set of people who would order new cards or just re-add their cards to a mobile wallet very frequently to abuse new user offers on things like gambling sites, Uber, Deliveroo, etc.

It was to the point where it became a bit of a meme in the comments of HotUKDeals.

You can thank those people for one of the waves of card delivery changes (and for the projects that were unfortunately dropped to work on that).
