Looking good with regards to DD and SOs!

This add money screens are not new to 2.1 these were in previous version.
Finally some love for Android DDs

Version 2.2.0
Youāll notice that the dial thing on the spending/budget page is now dark blue! Once you set an overall monthly target itāll shift back to the green you know and love

Wish I didnāt have to set an overall budget for the RAG dial to work now.
Not only that, if you set a budget above what you have in your account, it acts as if you have that money. Set it to 2000 it says you have 2000-current spend left to spend this month. I can see how its meant to work if you want to limit spending within a smaller amount than you have, but it seems thereās no checks on putting a higher amount.
I can see why that might work for some, if they know they will get another inbound transfer in the month thy can still have a budget for the whole month.
Unfortunately though it has stopped it from working how it used to based of whatevers is left to spend after committed spend and deposits into pots. I donāt see why we canāt have the option of both
Yeah, I think I get where they might have wanted to put a little flexibility in it if you have income spread over the month. It does seem like it may be prone to mistakes though. If youāre not careful you may accidentally base your spending on a budget you set that doesnāt reflect what money you might actually have in a month if your income changes for any reason.
It might be more useful if it had some sort of indicator that the budget doesnāt have enough funds, or make it a little smarter based on previous income that you donāt have enough funds but might if you get funds it expects. Right now it suggests (if your not on the ball) that you have money you donāt.
Yes it seems like theyāve reacted to the mystery over the colour thresholds by allowing people to choose their own thresholds, but at the expense of those who dont budget. It would be good if those people who dont set a budget could choose their own RAG thresholds.
The good news isā¦if you donāt set a budget, the whole thing still works - it just doesnāt have the colours, which were wrong anyway, so perhaps itās a step forward really
Exactly this,![]()

It has your average spend next to the categories already. Why not just use those to begin with and adjust them if itās not working?
I didnāt notice that - maybe I was just surprised at the grey! Iām off to take off targets budgetsā¦!
Edit: It doesnāt work for me. The grey ring just says āĀ£0 left to spendā instead of the precise figure that I had before ![]()
Hmmmā¦is your balance greater than your future bills? Also (I think) itās all about the overall budget - not the individual ones
Not at the moment. Previously there was a really helpful figure saying that Iād need X amount to cover the committed spend. Thatās what I was getting at with the Pulse mock-up above (Edit: not above, on the Summary feedback thread) - it was super-helpful to have - but now I feel like I have to put more effort into setting up budgets for something thatās not as helpful (to me, at least).
Also (I think) itās all about the overall budget - not the individual ones
Agreed, having just tinkered with them both!
New beta 2.3 just landed - Itās a big one
Transferwise and Summary update.

Thatās early⦠
