Monzo app colours?

I’ve been thinking for a while, why has monzo got as their main app logo the M with 4 different colours? Monzo are known for the hot coral, why is the M not that colour? I’m just curious to know why, it doesn’t bother me, just curious to know the reason behind it.

I know you can change the app icon.

Honestly no idea and never questioned it. I know it’s changed at least once, but even then it was the same colours just different shades.

@jessec might have the real answer but from a quick google the color’s are based off a Google-esque pallette and are meant to convey professionalism.
