The For the first time one is the best.

The adverts do make me think the cards needs a refresh, wierdly it looks more dated in the ad than the actual card does in my wallet. Maybe colour reproduction in the photo…card deffo needs to be less messy on the front and maybe vertical.

What’s the story behind the “turned up at a music festival” thing in advert 2?

If I’ve got the story right, some of the team took spare cards to Glastonbury and when customers messaged to say they had lost their cards the customer service team worked with people onsite and helped arrange to meet up and give them new ones :grinning:

Haha! Whoever came up with that idea at the office is a genius.

“Hey boss… I think it would be a great idea if you bought me and a few mates some tickets for Glastonbury… Just in case customers lose their cards”

Out of interest, do you know how many were replaced?

It seems like a good “customer focussed feel good story”, so I’m surprised it wasn’t marketed a little louder (I hadn’t heard of it until just then).

That’s the beauty of it; doesn’t feel like a publicity stunt.

I previously would have thought they don’t want it to be too much of a “thing” or those kind of things become an expectation.

In reality, it wouldn’t be possible for a larger bank to do this, with sheer numbers.

Plus doesn’t adhere to “5-7 working days”

Oh absolutely - But it wouldn’t have necessarily needed to be a “this is what we do” type of thing - More a light hearted take on customer service.

Plus… It’s now part of their ad campaign, so it’s out there for the world to see!

There will always be people who see any type of marketing as a publicity stunt - It would have been a fun story to tell (IMO).

Not sure how many were replaced, let me see if I can find out for you!

As a customer, that would be pretty epic if that happened - The sheer frustration at losing the card, to the bizarre reality that your bank were also there… rocking out with spare cards is so surreal!

@Tink can you email me tristan@monzo.com with as many details as possible about your commute where you saw this?

I think we all know it was Ann Boden from Starling on her home after a heavy Thursday night out in the City… tipping Monzo adverts upside down for giggles.

That’s correct! It was actually me that delivered the card

There’s a Monzo ad on our Digital Signage at the Students Union. Every time it pops up, we all pull out our cards!

Is it just me or does the card look more like orange in that poster than it really is?

You got it! :male_detective:

Wait till you see it IRL. It really pops. (We put extra effort into getting the card the right colour).

I’m sure it’s just because of the lighting in the photo . I’m not London based unfortunately!

Is it only on certain lines in London?
