Merry Christmas 2025

Traditionally, all the decorations come down on 6th January, (Tuesday), because that’s when the church celebrates the Epiphany, when the three kings/wise men brought the gifts for Jesus. In some European countries that’s also when presents are exchanged, rather than on Christmas Day.

The significance of this being that they were Gentiles, so Jesus was revealed to the wider world as the Messiah.

I can’t imagine what you could mean

Anyone else got the new year flu? Second year running and it’s god awful. :joy:

I was gonna take down the deccies last night but ate a KFC instead…

Tonights 12th night no? So as long as I take them down tonight I’m all in the clear?

Did you get jabbed? Not had flu since I was kid, even before I started getting jabbed. I remember at work at this time of year the office was like a Victorian hospital ward with people looking and sounding like they were on their deathbed but I still didn’t succumb.

Also managed to evade Covid so far, despite socialising in crowded places.

Yeah I’ve had my jab, same time as my Covid about November time.

It’s typically January I get wiped out, someone from Christmas antics or New Year’s Eve.

I should’ve stayed in on both counts :grimacing:
